ISF has unveiled its new membership scheme for 2026, giving equal focus to 5-a-side and 7-a-side, as well as the traditional 6-a-side version.

An ISF spokesman explained:

“A lot of our members are asking us to look at 7-a-side and 5-a-side options, as this may be what they play in their own country, so we have provided three different alternatives for membership, to give more choice to our members”.

“If they only want to play in 6-a-side events then they only buy the 6-a-side membership, for example. After buying the membership the member receives a log in to their portal where they can upgrade to buy further formats”.

Plans are also underway to look for hosts to deliver more 5-a-side and 7-a-side events, with the possibility of World or European Championships in 5-a-side or 7-a-side, to complement the existing 6-a-side World Championship which will be officially announced shortly, in a key European destination.

The spokesman continued:

“Also we have reduced the cost for the basic, Bronze, membership package, to reflect the fact that all our events now have an entry fee to cover the services ISF provide, such as referees, tournament direction, equipment or media. This gives the customer greater choice to pick and choose what type of membership they want, and which events they want to enter”.

“Of course we expect a lot of countries will want to purchase all three (5-a-side, 6-a-side and 7-a-side) to ensure complete exclusivity in their own country, and they can freely enter all events ISF promotes”.

“To be able to purchase all three formats, which will mean no other organisation in the country can become a member of the ISF, once one format (e.g., 6-a-Side) has been purchased, a country can upgrade on their membership portal to purchase both, 5-a-side and 7-a-side, and enter all ISF events.”

“ISF memberships will be open to organisations in every country to become a member on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.”

Organisations that have not yet completed payment of their membership will not be included in official ISF communications, including the tournament updates, competition announcements, hosting opportunities, or the overall broadcast list. Non-paying organisations will receive information at the same time as the general public via our social platforms.

Additionally, entry into an ISF tournament is strictly conditional upon holding a valid ISF membership for the relevant format. Any organisation that submits a tournament entry without having an active membership in place will not be permitted to participate. In such cases, entry fees will be forfeited in accordance with ISF regulations.
