The opening ceremony of the TUI Socca World Championship proved an overwhelming success, drawing packed stands, vibrant crowds, and a festival-like atmosphere that set the tone for the tournament ahead. Fans filled the arena as food stalls, live music, and pre-match parties transformed the venue into a citywide celebration.
Adding prestige to the event, the Municipal President of Benito Juárez, Ana Paty welcomed key international leaders, including David, President of the International Socca Federation; Alejandro Luna, Director of Sports for the Government of Mexico; Peter Spacey, ISF Vice President; Sergio Ibarra, President of Socca Americas; Christoff Köchy, President of Europe; and Thanos Papadopoulos, CEO of the International Socca Federation.
Organizers hailed the night as one of the strongest openings in the championship’s history, highlighting both the community turnout and Cancún’s capacity to host world-class sporting experiences.
With energy high and the stands full, the tournament is now underway promising nine more days world-class small-sided football.
