The 6-a-Side European Championships in Albania are destined to be the biggest and most prestigious Euros in Socca so far.
An ISF spokesman said:
“We already have had quite a few teams and countries signing up and I think one of the attractions is that countries can now book their own accommodation and choose exactly where they want to go.”
The Euros are also an opportunity for countries to state their claim to be part of the World Cup later in the year.
An ISF spokesman explained:
“There are going to be limited places for the World Cup later in the year, and we haven’t yet decided the destination, but it will most probably be either Italy, Germany, or even the UK. Either way, we are going to prioritise countries that pay their memberships first and are entered into the European Championships in Albania. This is our new policy of first-come, first-served, which is fair to all countries around the world, and particularly in Europe, and we are not going to prioritise any country. There are only 24 spots in Albania and with half of them already taken, it is important that countries get their membership sorted and enter the European Championship because it is likely that we will be limiting numbers in both the European Championship and the World Cup later this year.”
The tournament is set to take place at Shtëpia e Futbollit, Tirana, where preparations are currently underway ahead of the event. Early visuals and draft concepts show a digital representation of what our European Championship venue will decipher below, and the work continues. These depictions provide an early indication of the layout and scale, with further updates are to be expected as our development progress is ongoing.
