From the region of Ribatejo, Portugal, the team Iconic has quickly risen to become one of the most exciting names in Portuguese socca. After making their name known across Socca Portugal and being crowned regional champions, the team is now set to make its long-awaited debut at the 2025 TUI Socca Champions League in Rethymno, Crete.
As they prepare to face the best club teams in the world of socca, Iconic spoke to us about what this moment means for them, their country, and their identity as a team.
When asked how it feels to make their debut at the Socca Champions League, the team highlighted the significance of the achievement:
“Making our debut in the TUI Socca Champions League is important, firstly because it means we finished in the top eight in Portugal and secondly because we received a lot of positive feedback from the tournament.”
For Iconic, the experience represents more than just competition — it’s an opportunity for growth, learning, and international exposure.
“This opportunity for my team is an incredible experience outside of our country that will allow us to grow and evolve. For Socca Portugal, I believe it’s always beneficial to have its teams represent our country.”
The team also reflected on their mindset heading into the tournament, acknowledging both the challenges and the excitement ahead.
“We see this as a very good experience and we will enjoy it, and of course we know it is difficult, but we will try to get as far as possible.”
When asked what makes Iconic stand out from other teams in the competition, their answer came without hesitation:
“What makes us different is the spirit we have as a team.”
That unity and energy have been central to their rise, defining who they are both on and off the pitch. And when asked to sum up their philosophy in a single word, they simply replied:
“Iconic.”
Finally, looking ahead to their journey in Rethymno, the team shared their excitement about the experience that awaits them.
“It’s special to have this opportunity to go and enjoy a beautiful region and new cultures while playing football.”
As the Portuguese finalists set their sights on Rethymno, they carry with them the pride of a growing socca nation and the ambition to make their mark in their first-ever TUI Socca Champions League. With their trademark spirit and determination, Iconic are ready to live up to their name and to show the world what Portuguese socca is all about.
