The ISF is moving its Headquarters to Germany after 9 years as a UK based organisation.

ISF President David Leone said:
“I’ve been talking with Christoph Koechy, our Europe President, for quite a few months as I have intended, since the Oman World Cup in December 2024, to wind down my involvement in Socca.”

“Following discussions over the past months, Christoph Koechy will take over as President and I know that he will do a superb job in the role. After 9 years I feel that, with increased travelling commitments, I cannot attend every event which I think is an important part of the role, and I am delighted he has accepted.”

“With his strong background in sponsorship and commercial strategy, Christoph is well placed to further develop Socca globally, and I fully intend to support him where I can as he leads the ISF into a bright future.”

“The ISF has become, in just 9 short years, the pre-eminent governing body in small sided football worldwide and we have created some fantastic and memorable events. It’s time for me to step aside and let a new generation of leadership lead the organisation.”

“I would like to pay tribute to the countries who have so enthusiastically supported us over the years, as well as the many staff of Socca whose hard work and dedication it has been a privilege to witness at first hand.”

„The beating heart of Socca are the people at the coal face of our events – referees, TV and commentators – and I want to publicly acknowledge their contribution which has been enormous, and Socca could not have achieved what it has without them.“

“Dan Shaw and his team of commentators have brought a professionalism to our broadcast output that has elevated us to a premium product around the world, and Vedran Prga has been the nicest, most gracious and dedicated, not to say talented, TV Producer anyone could possibly hope to work with.”

“Our referees have proved time and again that their hard work and application, allied to their outstanding skills, have made Socca what it is today – the most respected small sided football body in the world. They are an amazing group of people, led by Tournament Director, Mareks Kere, and his Deputy Simon Grlec, and ably supported with such skill by Adin Hasic, Artis Ķēniņš and colleagues.”

From 18th March 2026 all policy decisions within Socca will now be undertaken and administered through the new German Headquarters.

David finished,
“I shall miss all the people in Socca, and meeting all the countries each year, but I will not miss the travelling – but whether I attend future events as a guest or not, the Socca family will know that I am with all of them, and wishing them all the best for a bright future ahead”.
