They came, they conquered, and then they did it again.
In the heart of Rio and against the hosts themselves, Mexico proved once more that they are the undisputed kings of socca in the Americas.
With a composed and clinical performance, they defeated Brazil 2-1 in the final and became back-to-back Socca Americup champions, defending their title in the most emphatic way possible.
Mexico’s tournament was a masterclass in control, aggression, and focus. Unbeaten from start to finish, they outscored and outplayed every opponent. In the final, they stayed cool under pressure, silencing a vibrant Rio crowd and lifting the trophy once more — this time, on enemy soil.
Despite the heartbreak in the final, Brazil’s tournament run was powerful and convincing. With big wins in the group stage and a strong showing against Argentina and Peru, the hosts proved they’re a serious force in international socca — and they’ll be back, stronger than ever.
Earlier in the day, Peru secured the bronze medal with a 3-2 win over Uruguay, capping off a solid campaign with a place on the podium.
