ISF has updated its new rankings for 2026, with a new formula which more accurately reflects a range of factors for each country.

Tournament Director Mareks Kere said: “We wanted to have rankings which reflected factors such as year on year membership to ISF –  a loyalty bonus if you like – plus go back to our first World event in Lisbon in 2018, but still ensure that points for more recent events counted the most”.

“So we have devised a system which gives extra points depending on how recent an event is, and points are calculated for World events (double points), entry to competitions, plus intercontinental events such as the Euros or Americup, as well as membership loyalty”.

Invitational or smaller events do not count towards ranking and deductions are also made for entering an event but not playing matches and poor discipline records.

Mareks continued: “The rankings will be the basis for future seeding at our major events, although we will also take into account other relevant factors at each event, on a case by case basis”.

For the first time any country can ask how their own ranking has been calculated by contacting the ISF on [email protected] where they will receive, on request, the formula for calculating the ranking charts.

Mareks said: “We want to be fair – that is the most important thing, but also transparent how we have calculated the rankings, so everyone knows what the requirements are to get more points – and climb the rankings – for 2026”.

ISF have also announced that they will be producing a Club Ranking table to reflect performances of club teams at ISF events, including Champions League.
