The International Socca Federation, in partnership with Socca Moldova and the FA of Moldova, is delighted to announce that the second edition of the Socca EuroCup will take place in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau between the 8th May and 12th May 2024.
The extremely popular competition debuted in the Socca calendar in March 2023, as 13 teams took part in the inaugural event – with Kazakhstan taking home the crown following a nail biting Socca penalty shootout win over Romania in the final.
The tournament will follow the same structure as last years edition, with 20 teams entering one of two sides. The first side is an invitational competition for teams who have already qualified for the Socca World Cup, thanks to their Socca World Ranking position. The second half of the competition is used as a qualifying event for the Socca World Cup, with 3 tickets available to be won to qualify for the Socca World Cup 2024.
The winner of each side of the competition will meet in the Socca EuroCup Final to see who is crowned this year’s champion.
All games in the competition will again take place at the fabulous La Izvor Stadium, the purpose built small sided football stadium in the Chisinau, which is a joint venture between Socca Moldova and the FA of Moldova.
Igor Carasiov, president of Socca Moldova, said he was excited for Moldova to take the next step in its development. He commented, “We are pleased to host the second Socca EuroCup. It will become an even bigger spectacular this year. I would like to thank everyone who has helped to organise and make this event possible and share our gratitude to all the countries that have expressed a desire to come to Moldova and compete for the European trophy once again. We look forward to welcoming you all to Moldova.”
The draw for the tournament will take place in March 2024, at which point all competitors will be officially announced, including a host of new countries that will be taking part for the first time.
