World Rankings:
The highly anticipated Socca Americup 2025 kicked off in vibrant Rio de Janeiro, with fans treated to a spectacular opening day full of goals, drama, and promising performances.
Group A – Hosts Brazil Start Strong, Chile Struggle
Brazil, the host nation, got off to a perfect start with a commanding 2-0 victory over Chile. The Seleção looked sharp, cohesive, and in control from start to finish, securing the top spot in Group A with three points and a +2 goal difference.
Chile, on the other hand, struggled to find rhythm and fell short in both attack and defense. With Uruguay and Venezuela yet to make their debut, the group is still wide open – but Brazil has certainly set the tone.
Group B – Strong Starts for Peru and USA
Peru delivered a solid performance, winning their opener against Ecuador with a two-goal margin and claiming the top position in Group B. Close behind, USA edged out Argentina, earning three points and showing early signs of tournament ambition.
Argentina and Ecuador now face early pressure, both sitting at the bottom with no points – and negative goal differences.
Group C – Mexico Dominates, Canada Impresses
Mexico produced the most dominant performance of the day, crushing Belgium with an incredible 8-0 win. It was a powerful statement that puts Mexico at the top of Group C with a massive +8 goal difference.
Meanwhile, Canada came out on top in a thrilling encounter against Colombia, winning 3-2 in one of the most exciting matches of the day. With three points each, both Mexico and Canada have positioned themselves strongly for qualification, while Colombia and Belgium must bounce back quickly.
