Victory Vrsar have become one of the benchmark clubs of worldwide Socca, winning back-to-back Socca Champions League titles and writing their name with golden letters into the sport’s history books. Their journey is not about one star player but about a team that thrives on unity, sacrifice, and an unshakable hunger for victory.
As founder and captain Marin Romic explained, “For my team and me, it is a great honor to be Socca European champions two times in a row. It is an honor to be where we are thanks to the hard work and sacrifice that brought us here, to the top of Europe.”
With success comes pressure. Victory Vrsar now carry the reputation of being the team every opponent wants to defeat. Romic acknowledges this reality: “Other teams now look at us differently and prepare especially for us. Because when you are at the top, everyone wants to beat you. Of course, we never underestimate anyone and we enter every match giving 100 percent.”
This mindset has been the backbone of the club, shaping a philosophy rooted in resilience. “Sacrifice and togetherness defined us throughout the entire tournament, and I believe it is one of the main reasons for our consecutive victories,” he added.
The Croatian champions lifted their second trophy in Rethymno, a city that has become synonymous with their success. Beyond the silverware, it is the memories of the battle that stand out.
Romic recalled the final day in 2024, when the team had to overcome extraordinary obstacles: “We played three matches with only nine players. One of our teammates was seriously injured, in the semifinal we got a red card, and in the final, our injured player was even taping his own ankle so he could play if necessary. And in the end, despite everything, we won and lifted the trophy. I will never forget the moment when so many children and fans rushed onto the pitch to celebrate with us.”
It was a moment that summed up the essence of Victory Vrsar — fighting through adversity together.
Despite their historic achievements, complacency has never been an option for this group. “Since the very beginning of our story, we have stuck together, always there for one another and constantly supporting each other. Every match matters to us, and every victory brings us equal joy. We are all competitive, eager to play well, and hungry for wins,” said Romic.
The captain also highlighted the growing potential of the sport itself: “I believe socca will become increasingly popular worldwide and that it still hasn’t reached its full potential. It grows every year, and there is still plenty of room for development. As for Victory’s future in Socca – we go step by step, match by match, always working to improve and investing more in the club every year.”
Victory Vrsar represent more than a team of champions; they are a model of what Socca can be when passion, sacrifice, and unity come together. As they prepare to return to Rethymno for the 2025 TUI Socca Champions League to defend their crown, the story of this remarkable squad is far from finished.
