With the Socca World Cup 2025 on the horizon, a high-level meeting took place this week between representatives from the America’s Socca Confederation (ASC) and officials from the local government of Cancún. The purpose: to reaffirm their shared commitment to hosting the very first small sided football World Cup ever held in the Americas.
The meeting was marked by a spirit of collaboration and mutual enthusiasm for the event, which is expected to draw teams from 48 countries across six continents. Key topics on the agenda included logistics, infrastructure development, public safety, tourism promotion, and sustainability, with a special focus on the Malecón Tajamar, the iconic waterfront area selected to serve as the main venue for the tournament.
Local officials emphasized Cancún’s readiness, citing its robust hospitality sector, international airport connectivity, and extensive experience in hosting large-scale international events. ASC representatives expressed confidence that Cancún offers not only a spectacular natural backdrop but also the organizational capacity to deliver a world-class tournament.
The meeting signals a significant step forward in the preparations, strengthening the alignment between global socca leadership and local authorities. Both parties pledged to continue working hand-in-hand in the coming months to ensure that Socca World Cup 2025 sets new standards for excellence, both on and off the pitch.
With excitement building and the groundwork well underway, Cancún is officially ready to welcome the world. The countdown to one of 2025’s most anticipated global sporting events has begun.
