The International Socca Federation, in partnership with it’s America’s Socca Federation ‘Socca Americas’, is delighted to announce the highly anticipated Socca America Cup, an innovative tournament aimed at reinvigorating small team football in Central America. Scheduled to take place from February 16 to 25, 2024, the America’s Socca Cup promises an electrifying display of skill and sportsmanship.
The Socca America’s Cup is three tournaments taking place in the beautiful Mexican resort of Cancun. Famed for it’s lucrative tourism industry – it is one of the top tourist destination in the world – and it’s white sandy beaches and fantastic all year round weather, the Fiesta will include the Copa Socca America, specifically for international sides, America’s Club Tournament, which will see 16 club sides taking part, and finally the Socca Business Cup, which is designed especially for Corporate teams.
There will also be an 8 team women’s exhibition cup taking place during the event, which will feature the final being played in the purpose built stadium on Langosta Beach.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Sergio Ibarra, president of Socca Americas, expressed his excitement and stated: “Cancun in February is the stage for an extraordinary socca celebration. With teams from the Americas and international guests, this tournament promises a great atmosphere, fierce competition, and a reminder of how sports unite us across borders. Let the games begin, as Cancun becomes the epicenter of a memorable socca spectacle.”
The tournaments will form part of the 2024 Socca calendar of events, culminating in the Socca World Cup 2024. All games from the Copa Socca America will be broadcast live on TV and across the ISF social media platforms.
