ISF is delighted to welcome a brand new member to the organisation, as Ukraine has joined ahead of the worldwide resumption of competitions.

Eastern Europe is something of a stronghold for the small sided game, with the current World Champions and runners up coming from the area, now Ukraine – a football mad nation with an illustrious past  – will be welcome.

ISF’s Andy Thorley welcomed them, and added: “It’s great to see the organisation expanding, it has obviously been a terrible year for everyone worldwide, but in many ways this is like a beacon of hope for everyone that the good times – normality perhaps – is gradually returning.”

Sergey Kharchenko, General Manager of the All-Ukrainian Mass Football Association, was thrilled to be joining and said: “I really appreciate and respect their goals. ISF has already reached some goals during the last 3 years and have been particularly impressed with the way the ISF has organized two World Cups one in Crete in 2018 and one Portugal in 2019.”

ISF was formed three years ago at a ceremony in Birmingham, which saw many of the top figures in small sided football in attendance. Since then, the quality of their events, particularly the World Cup and Champions League has attracted new members from across the globe.

The most recent World Cup, held in autumn 2019 before the pandemic hit, attracted over 300,000,000 views worldwide.

There will be much more with Sergey in the coming days, as he makes plain his plans for domestic and international domination to go alongside the affiliation.
