WORLD’S BIGGEST SET FOR UK

The biggest one day small-sided football championships anywhere in the world will be back in the UK this summer.

The UK 6 a side Championships over 300 teams playing at Rugby Borough Football Club on the 16th July, marking its first return since the global pandemic derailed the sport, with the last winners – a team from London – pictured above. 

The Management teams of the Leisure Leagues powered Home Nations 6 a side teams will be around on the day, so even if teams doesn’t win, personal glory could be still be on the way, with players perhaps representing countries at elite world events. However, as Leisure Leagues Tom Nash stressed, it’s not just the elite that will be welcomed: “The day isn’t just about the best players,” he said. “Anyone 16 or over can just enjoy a fun day at the biggest festival of football anywhere in the UK this year.”

The event is open to teams from anywhere in the world, with the central location within easy reach of airports and transport networks to Europe and the world, with Tom saying: “its been a long time since we all got together and it would be great to see the best from the whole family join us.”

Leisure Leagues are providing the infrastructure for the tournament, as they do for ISF events and the facilities that are being used at Rugby Borough FC are amongst the cutting-edge grass roots football clubs in the country. Their ground boasts two state of the art 3G pitches – the latest having been built in June 2021 – as well as changing facilities and social rooms.
