ISF representatives recently visited the German city of Essen where the 2023 Socca World Cup will be staged next to the Kennedy Platz.
The Mayor of Essen, Thomas Kufen, greeted the ISF President, Chief Executive and members of the local organising committee, in the central square where the stadium will be built.
ISF CEO, Thanos Papadopoulos commented, “We are really pleased to be in Germany and everybody is looking forward next year to the World Cup. Christoph and Julia are doing a superb job in organising the event and a special thanks must go to the Mayor, Thomas Kufen, who is providing significant support to make sure that the event is a success. We are very grateful to him and his team”.
The ISF delegation looked at the square, the surrounding area including where the various elements would be, the range of hotels available and other services.
