As the group stages end at the World Cup in just a few minutes, bringing the curtain down on what has been a wonderful week of action, now seems like the ideal opportunity to focus on the most important thing in Rethmyno.

That isn’t the thrilling action, the goals, the skills – and the controversy – instead it is the fans.

The colour, the noise, the backing, the support, of the thousands that have packed into the Leisure Leagues  stadium has made this tournament the finest of its type ever played anywhere in the world.

From the young fans that have provided so much enthusiasm, as they dreamed one day of being there themselves, to the travelling army of England supporters, and those from everywhere else in the world, the backing has been incredible.
