The International Socca Federation is delighted to announce that the first annual Champions League competition will take place this October in Porec, Croatia. The tournament will begin on Thursday 18th October (afternoon) and close on Sunday 21st October (evening), allowing all teams to enjoy a long weekend in one of Croatia’s most beautiful tourist cities at the end of the summer period.
Unlike the World Cup, this competition is open to all football teams, and each country can submit several of their best socca teams to participate. The standard of playing is generally very high, with most participating teams being the winners of the national championships in their own country or region, although other teams are welcome to enter also. Teams from countries who are not competing in the World Cup are also welcome to participate.
The inaugural competition will run simultaneously in 2 formats; 6-a-side and 7-a-side. Each team will be asked to select their preferred playing style when they enter the tournament, according to their preferred playing style.
The 6-a-side format will be played on 26m x 46m astroturf pitches with 4m x 2m goals.
The 7-a-side format will be played on 32m x 54m grass pitches with 5m x 2m goals.
Included within the team’s entry fee will be 4 nights half-board accommodation (minimum 3*), entry to the tournament and a full outfit for each player, and there is a €3,000 prize up for grabs for each category.
Teams who wish to enter the tournament can register their team here: https://soccafederation.com/select-your-country-champions-league or can email [email protected] for further information.
