AMI’s Grass Yarn & Tufters Forum 2019 took place on the 25 – 27 February 2019 in Vienna, Austria. It was the 13th annual edition of this well-respected conference which focused on technical and commercial developments in the artificial grass/synthetic turf supply-chain.
The International Socca Federation’s Head of Sponsorship, Christoph Koechy, was invited to present the work of International Socca Federation and the fast development of small-sided football.
A delighted Christoph admitted he was thrilled to have spoken at the event and said: “”While professional football is played on natural grass, the small-sided game offers a great opportunity to the synthetic turf industry,” explained Christoph.” Often people forget that this is the most played sport in the world. It was a pleasure to finally meet current ISF partner Polytan, but also exploring other areas like glue, laboratories, grass branding etc. Thanks to AMI for the invitation!“
There was little doubt that Mr. Koechy’s remarks taken with great interest by the enthusiastic delegates. Small sided football is mainly played on artificial turf and for the pinnacle event, the Socca World Cup, ISF uses a mobile synthetic pitch to be able to stage the events in some of the most prized locations in the world.
Last year – below – was played in the Trunkwala Stadium in the main square in Lisbon, with the 2019 event kicking off this autumn in the picturesque beachside location of Rethmyno in Crete.
